Treasure Hunting in Georgia

The land of Southern Appalachia is wild. And some of the wildest is in the Smokey Mountains. There are the Southern Blueridge Mountains, Blue Ridge Parkway, and then in Georgia proper:
Andersonville NHS
Appalachian National Scenic Trail
Chattahoochee River National Rec Area
Chickamauga and Chattanooga Natl Military Park
Cumberland Island National Seashore
Fort Frederica NM
Fort Pulaski NM
Jimmy Carter NHS
Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park
Martin Luther King Jr NHS
Ocmulgee NM
Trail of Tears National Historic Trail
But even though spring and fall bring magnificent natural color to the forest and pastures, there is a treasure of semi-precious and precious gems, minerals, collectible rocks, and gold and diamonds!
