Ozarks of Arkansas May Hold A Very Large Fortune

The Old Ozark Fortune Cavern is still lost, undisturbed for years.

One of the Ozarks' greatest secrets, The Old Spanish Fortune Cavern in the northwest

corner of Arkansas is thought to hold stowed-away fortunes. Covered by Spanish conquerors escaping

from local Americans quite a long time back, the cache stays hidden.

The actual fortune has not yet been found, yet relics from the time span

have been found close nearby. Head protectors, weapons, and shields have all been found.

So, there's actually some trust in the tale.! These finds are

the unusual archeological disclosures to date.

The Ozarks, also known as the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Highlands or Ozark Plateau,

is a physiographic region in the U.S. states of Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma and the

extreme southeastern corner of Kansas. The Ozarks cover a significant portion of northern

Arkansas and most of the southern half of Missouri.

There is no naturally occurring gold or silver in the Ozarks. The geology is

all wrong for either to occur here naturally, yet people still tell

stories of gold and silver and search for it in bluff shelters.

This often destroys archeological deposits as people dig through the

shelters trying to find something that is not there.

On the other hand, if you are interested in finding gold in Missouri,

you may want to check out this guide.

It provides information on hot spots and gold panning techniques in Missouri.

The guide mentions that almost all of the gold discovered in Missouri has been

extra-fine-grained flour gold. There has been no commercial mining activity in the

state on a large scale. In some regions, recreational gold panning can yield tiny

amounts of placer gold.
