Utah Sisters Find Treasure - $20,000 Of Cash - Destined to Various Needy Communities

This hunt for treasure took the sisters to several Utah cities, and into the mountains. Betweem the mountains, the sisters sought a room in which people are locked in order to play a game requiring them to solve a series of puzzles within a certain amount of time to accomplish a goal, typically finding the key to unlock the room. Then there was the work against the clock to solve clues to escape the room.

On September 19, 2022, the girls found treasure! They discovered a hidden chest full of cash — a pot of gold their reward at the end of a great treasure hunt. But instead of keeping the $20,000 prize, they decided to give the money to charities close to their hearts.

As a preface to their hunt, what could be better than to find out that they were Korri and Sashley Wolfe, who both served in the U.S. Air Force in Afghanistan. They ended “The QR Hunt” on Sunday, beating more than 25,000 fellow treasure hunters. As part of the hunt, which began Aug. 12, participants "had to scan QR codes at clue locations in order to mark their progress."

Together these sis's toiled for a month to solve clues, which eventually guiede them towards a wooden chest. The chest, hidden in a ravine near Grove Creek Trail, Pleasant Grove in Utah County.

Native American, the Wolfe sisters plan to “pay it forward”. The money will go to organizations whose work supports Indigenous people. Mental health, reproductive rights and the LGBTQ community are also considerations to the donations.

"The hunt took them to Ogden, American Fork and Magna, to an escape room at Trolley Square, and into the video game world of “Flappy Bird,” which Korri Wolfe said was the hardest part of the hunt." The Salt Lake Tribune-

Both girls had fallen into a depression after the loss of a friend. The hunt helped them in their quest to deal with the depression. It gave them a reason to reflect and seek outside sunshine and native air.

Once they found the wooden chest and opened it to all of that money they realized it was a greater experience with sisters.

Maxim and Cline (organizers of the hunts) started Utah Treasure Hunts during COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. It was to “entertain themselves and to motivate people to get out and enjoy the state’s outdoor bounty,” according to their website.
