 Gold and copper are many times found together. Arizona is home to many copper mines that wind up collecting lots of gold in the process of separating copper. In fact, in many cases  the precious metals retrieved pay for the entire operation, so copper can be thought of as pure profit. Boddington Gold mine is located 8.1 miles northwest of Boddington, Western Australia. Reopened in 2010, it is now the largest gold mine in Australia. Super Pin used to be the largest - with 22.1 tons of of gold and 77 million pounds of copper produced in 2018 Boddington surpassed it. Reserves stand at 390 tons of gold. With 17.5 years of gold production left the mine probably will stay open until 2036.  The mine ceased in 2001 only to be reopened 9 years later. After several ownership reorganizations, Boddington became owned solely by Newmont. Newmont purchased AngloGold's position for 1.5 billion dollars in 2009.   SS Central America   carried 13,600 kg of gold when it sunk in 1857. Found in 1988, only 5% shipwreck could be excavated. In 2014, Odyssey Marine Exploration Inc., an American company which enterprises in the salvage of deep-water shipwrecks, started re-exploring the site. Recovering more than 15,500 gold and silver coins and 45 gold bars  from the shipwreck, the estimated value of the entire horde is around $100-150 million. The ship was declared a total loss on 6 July 1994. The 344 foot (105 m) stern section collapsed completely to port and sank in 1996 , while the 379 foot (116 m) bow section remained intact.

Some of the earliest gold finds in the United States were in the great state of Georgia. At the eastern shore of Allatoona Lake in Cherokee County (a reservoir created by the corps of engineers). Established in 1820'after gold miners pushed the Cherokee from their home, the town of Sixes was named after Fort Hinar Sixes (where the Trail of Tears began). The mine was started in 1819 and was one of the first gold mines in Georgia. The town of Sixes grew. The 1820's saw an increased interest in the gold mine and the town grew more. The 1830s and 40s saw structures such as a gristmill, several general stores, a church and a school house being built. As is a common story to the boom miner town, a decline began in the 1850's when miners moved on to better fortunes. Railroads reached the town in 1878, but development never took off to match its old prosperous self. Today only the mill remains as the sign of the existence of the town. One of the earliest gold rushes in the United States was in Georgia. News of the gold discover sparked one of the first major gold rushes in the U.S. By mid 1829, Georgia received tens of thousands of hopeful miners salivating to hit it rich. the mines numbered in the hundreds. As has been proven by time, businessmen and miners quickly followed. Others with a sense that gold discovery would spark economic development which followed. Of course, towns and settlements followed rapidly. Alatoona, Georgia was one of the first boom towns in Georgia, early in our country's development.  Allatoona  is an  u nincorporated town  in  B arlow County Located  in the state of Georgia, it is situated  along  6 miles southeast of Cartersville. It was a small town community until  a dam was built. Built at the base of the Etowah river, the dam completely flooded  the town of Allatoona. More to follow. Wikipedia

Gold American Eagle Monster Boxes come straight from the U.S. Mint. They are red and their lid is removable. These boxes are made of a very strong plastic. There is a chance that the boxes and tubes have some scratches as they are recycled by many coin companies. The tubes in the boxes are easy and convenient to store gold bullion in. Each Monster Box comes with 25 tubes of 20 one ounce Gold American Eagle coins. The design for the Gold Eagle originated in 1907 by August Saint-Gauden. It appeared first on the 20 dollar Double Gold Eagle. Most collectors judge the American Eagle coin design as the most beautiful in the world. Gold is pretty soft, so Eagles are made of 91.67% gold of U.S. origin, and an alloy of 5.33% copper and 3% silver. This creates a harder surface.
